Paula, thanks for those resources. I will give them a thorough review. The look extremely interesting. I am continually amazed by all the fantastic tools that are out there. Sometimes I have to laugh out loud at all the people who said the Internet was just a bubble that burst. There are tools available today that completely blow the early days away. If you have other things to share, please bring post them here.

Hi OSM, Just wanted to let you know about a free conference call service I've been using for a few months, foonz.com, and their free new voice-enabled blogging service, that also includes TTS capabilities: utterz.com. Let me know how it works for you: [email removed by admin]

Satya, I haven't come across that one yet. I'll have to give it a look. Honestly, at first glance it seems a bit to "sales letter" for me and doesn't really give me that warm fuzzy that a stable offering should. Let me know if you decide to try the product and would like to write a review for it. I would be interested to know if it has strengths over other solutions. Thanks for reference.

Have u heard of the website DeskPing.com? They seem to offer the same functionalities and much more. I am thinking of evaluating their trial plan. I guess it costs under 4 bucks. It looks like DeskPing is a better product than byoaudio.

Has anyone tried DeskPing.com yet?

Dani, I agree that hours spent in the car are not wasted if I’m doing something productive as well. This is why I started looking for ways to record audio while I was in the car. I also record a weekly podcast so I was also looking ways to become more comfortable with speaking into a recorder.

I have used my cell phone recorder to record audio that I can pull off and use later as well, but it always requires me to download it later, convert it from the cell format to mp3, and then upload it to the server. Recording direct to the service is easier by far.

I have also used mp3 recorders that encode direct to mp3 and I have used headset mics with my laptop sitting in the passenger sear (not safe!) but again, I always had to upload the files and then code everything up to go on the page. BYOAudio is just a convenience thing. I can carry a few ounces of cell phone in my pocket and I have a recording studio that goes where I go and everything is done except pasting the code to the page.

Where do you get your audio for listening on your drives?

I use HardToFindInterviews.com, iTunes.com, Podcasts.Yahoo.com, LearnOutLoud.com, Ted.com/talks, and a variety of internet marketing sources like ListAndTraffic and others that give me a monthly dose of ideas. There truly is a wealth of information online.

I have seen the listings for PostieCon. When I first noticed it when I signed up for PayPerPost. I think my wife and I will attend since we are both involved in blogging and a weekend in Vegas might be fun. Let me know if you decide to go and maybe we can meet up.

I tend to listen to books on tape during my long stretch car rides (commuting plus 45 min. back and forth to my horse). I feel like those hourse spent in the car are not wasted if I'm doing something productive. I really like the idea of a call service to record audio (if i'm traveling at night and they are free minutes). Wouldn't it be great to be able to do the same thing with video! I find it's much more personal. Did you hear about the conference coming up on making money with blogging? It's called PostieCon and it seems to be a cool place to pick up tips like this one.
